Chilmark MA boasts beautiful homes set on rolling land, rambling stone walls, grazing sheep, and one of the most beautiful of all Vineyard drives: Middle Road, the ancient stone fences, undulating landscape, and soaring ocean views suggest Ireland.
Currently, Chilmark’s small, rural community is located toward the western end of Martha’s Vineyard, “Up-Island” as it’s known. At the Chilmark Store, you’ll find locals and others passing the summer away in one of the rocking chairs on the porch.
Menemsha is down and dirty. It epitomizes the Maritime history and feel of yesteryear. It’s a place where sunsets are greeted with standing ovations, fishing boats unload their catches and the fishing shacks come to life with the right light from the setting sun.
Finally, Chilmark was named for a town near Thomas Mayhew Sr.’s birthplace in England. It was established in 1671 along with Tisbury and Edgartown. Subsequently, it became a farming community, and by 1850 had 96 farms.
Tower Farm Chilmark is located on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, off the coast of Cape Cod includes two spectacular residential home offerings, (i) 34 Ebens Lane and (ii) 31 Tower Lane immediately adjacent to over 55+ acres of conservation land.
The development team was inspired by the 66+ acre property as originally envisioned by acclaimed architect Araldo Cossutta.
The homes have been carefully considered and sited on the land to reflect the property’s strongest attributes and to feel the presence of the outside inside. Oftentimes, program and site can have competing personalities, Tower Farm is a marriage between the two, complementing them in true partnership.
